Day 1: CHIANG MAI – PAI (Lunch)

Pick up from hotel or airport in direction to Pai.

Stop in Mae Rim to visit the Darapirom Palace. (Click on Details)Chao Dara Rasmi, daughter of Chiang Mai’s King Phra Chao Indavijayanonda, became a Royal Consort of King Chulalongkorn in 1886. 22 years later, after the death of her father, and shortly after the death of her Royal husband, she decided to move back to Chiang Mai where she built the Darapirom Palace. From here, she undertook a wide range of benevolent activities in agriculture, arts and culture such as fostering Buddhism and reviving Lanna handicrafts to enhance the image of Lanna. She also organized an experimental agricultural project and encouraged agriculture in the north. Breeding new varieties of roses was one of her great achievements. Her favourite ones were pink roses with a mild fragrance, which she named Chulalongkorn in memory of her husband.

Visit of a small elephant campEasy bicycling tour to discover small town of Pai and its surrounding areas. Cycle along the left bank of the Pai River, visiting “Hot Springs” and Shan villages before check in at your hotel

DAY 02: PAI – MAE HONG SON (Breakfast/Lunch)

Continue from Pai to Mae Hong Son, en route stop at the “Wind pass” for a breathtaking view over the foot- hill of the Himalayas range, and explore the great “Tham Lot caves” where villagers await you with lanterns and rafts to escort you through the cave.
On the way to Mae Hong Son stop at Tham Pla (Fish cave).
Lunch will be provided at local restaurant, transfer to local pier and take a boat trip on Pai River incl. visit local village.

DAY 03: MAE HONG SON (Breakfast/lunch)

Breakfast at hotel restaurant,

Transfer to visit Wat Phra Dhat Doi Kong Moo, which on clear days offers a beautiful view over Mae Hong Son and surrounding area, Also visit Burmese style temples Wat Jong Kam and Wat Jong Klang, houses 100 years old glass paintings and woodcarving from BURMA that depict the various lives of the Buddha.
12:00 Check out from hotel and transfer back to Chiang Mai, lunch will be provided at local restaurant
17:30 Drop off at your hotel or Chiang Mai Airport
