NORTH THAILAND DISCOVERY
Bangkok - Sukhothai - Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle -Chiang Rai

Day 1: BANGKOK – AYUTTHAYA –LOPBURI - SUKHOTHAI (440 km) (Lunch)

Check out your hotel and transfer to visit Historical site in Ayuthaya, visit Wat Panancherng at the bank of Pha Sak River, the three ancient pagodas at Wat Yai Chimonkol, afterward, transfer to Lopburi, visit Phra Prang Sam Yod (Sacred Three Spired Pagoda) and the Monkey Temple, lunch will be provided at local restaurant, after lunch drive up north to Sukhothai. On the way, visit a silo and rice-mill using traditional steam engine.

Arrival in Sukhothai in late afternoon, transfer to your hotel Evening at leisure.

Day 2: SUKHOTHAI – LAMPANG- LAMPOON - CHIANG MAI (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, transfer to visit Sukhothai Information Center then take a relaxing break by riding in ox-cart to experience the way of life of Thai rice-farmers on their rice-file, then, visit the famous ruin of this first capital of Thailand (1257-1379).  Lunch will be provided at local restaurant, proceed trip Chiang Mai via Lampang, we stop visit Lampoon town, exploring the famous Wat Phra That Haripoonchai, one of the most sacred monuments in the north, built in 1157.

Continue trip to Chiang Mai; check in to hotel, rest of day at leisure.

Evening; visit Chiang Mai night market for shopping and dinner or visit walking street nearly hotel (own arrangement)

Day 3: CHIANG MAI (Breakfast/Lunch)

Transfer to visit City & Temples Tour incl. Doi Suthep.  Visit the most interesting temples in Chiang Mai such as Wat Phra Singh with its famous Buddha image, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai built by King Mangrai, Wat Suan Dok which houses the remains of many  generations of the old Chiang Mai Royal Family and Wat Jet Yot.  Also visit to Wat Doi Suthep, tucked away in the mountains at 3,520 feet (1,056 meters).  The temple is reached by a staircase with 290 steps, flanked by a NAGA balustrade on either side.  The Monastery was built by King Gue-Na in 1383.  The center is a big Chedi spired pagoda) which contains partial relics of Lord Buddha.

Lunch will be provided at local restaurant, afternoon, transfer to visit Handicraft Factories to see the manufacturing of lacquer ware, the spinning and weaving of Thai Silk and how paper umbrellas are made.  Also visit a well-known Thai wood-carving factory before transfer and check in at your hotel, rest of day at leisure

Day 4: CHIANG MAI –HMONG (Breakfast/lunch/dinner)

Breakfast, at hotel, check out and drive to Mae Rim to visit Orchid farms and drive further to visit the elephant camp at Mae Ping. Watch how elephants are trained to haul and stack timber, play football and even draw paintings. Later, enjoy an hour ride on one of these big animals and 40 minutes bamboo rafting at the camp

Lunch will be provided at local restaurant

Continue trip by 4WD Toyota sport rider, driving further up along scenic mountainous landscapes to Pong Yang and up to the Hmong Village, passing various vegetable plantation, rice files along side of small bump ping dirt road to Hmong Lodge, visit the Development Center, which since 1984 is managed by the Royal Project Foundation with its main objective to stop opium cultivation and to help the hill tribes for humanitarianism, stroll around the villages of Hmong villages before transfer to hotel or walk from Baan Nong Hoi Mai to Hmong Hilltribe Lodge (optional)

Check in and overnight at simple and clean bungalow at Hmong Hilltribe Lodge – standard bungalow with electric fan in and overnight in Meo style bungalows. Barbecue dinner and presentation of hilltribe dances and customs

Day 5: HMONG –THATORN –CHAING RAI (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, Early depart for a long journey to Thatorn through the picturesque landscape, on the way visit Houy Nam Rin Village to see how the villagers produce the noodle. Arrival in Thatorn, a small village just a few kilometers away from the Burmese border Lunch is served at the Thatorn Riverview Resort or other nice restaurant in Thatorn

Continue transfer to Baan Pha Tai passing beautiful landscape & various orchard & rice field, along side of road,
At Baan Pha Tai, depart by typical motor boat for a three-hour journey along the Kok River passing a few rapids, tiny hilltribe villages, bamboo huts and jungle.  Stop for visit at the Muser Hill-tribe Village on the riverbanks.

Arrival in Chiang Rai in late afternoon, transfer to your hotel, check in and relax rest of day.


Day 6: CHIANG RAI -GOLDEN TRIANGLE -CHIANG RAI (Breakfast/Lunch)

CBreakfast at hotel, check out and transfer to Golden Triangle.
This morning, visit the Opium house muesuem in Golden.  then transfer the passenger to the local public pier, continue Trip by local long tailed boat on the Mekong river, cruising close-by the border of three countries, where you can see the simple & traditional lifestyle, Return to the pier, from here, we transfer by our private minibus to Mae Sai, the northernmost Thai town on the Burmese border where you have the opportunity for shopping and looking around the local market. Lunch will be provided at local restaurant,

In the afternoon, proceed to Doi Tung, visit Wat Phra That Doi Tung and visit Suan Mae Fah Lung a very beautiful garden decorated with different kinds of plants and flowers. Depart from Doi Tung and return transfer to your hotel in Chiang Rai.

Day 7: CHIANG RAI – CHIANG MAI - BANGKOK

Breakfast at hotel, check out and transfer to Chiang Mai, visit Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai, sightseeing and soft trekking & cycling trip included lunch box

Drop off in the evening at Chiang Mai train station and take the night train from Chiang Mai back to Bangkok.
